Tournons La Page is an international citizens’ movement that promotes democracy and human rights in Africa.
The organization was formed in 2014 and has since expanded into an international organization that works across Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Guinea, Niger, DRC, and Togo.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Among many of its actions, Tournons La Page has supported the observation of the December 2020 elections in Niger, strategic litigation for corruption scandals in Guinea, and strategic litigation in the case of the murder of a human rights defender in the DRC.
“This award is a reward, it is a motivation for us to continue the work we have undertaken since the creation of our organization,” said Marc Ona Essangui, president of Tournons La Page, in a video statement.
“It is time for the daughters and sons of the African continent to rise to the development challenge, take up the challenge of respect for human rights and the challenge of democracy. That is our ambition.”
