History was made on November 12, 2024, as the first-ever Borderless Africa Student Club debuted at the University of Media, Arts and Communications in Ghana. This pioneering initiative, inspired by Africans Rising’s Borderless Africa Campaign, aims to promote African unity, free movement, and integration. The event was witnessed by two Africans Rising’s staff, the movement coordinator, Hardi Yakubu and the Engagement and Collaboration Officer, Prince Akpah.
The objective of the club as emphasised by the club President Mrs. Clarissa Bandoh, is that “Borderless Africa is about rediscovering our African identity and building a future without barriers. Our strength lies in unity.”
The club’s strategies include:

- High school quizzes promoting African heritage
Funding and Sustainability
The club will rely on member contributions, small fundraisers, sponsorships, and social media partnerships to ensure affordability and inclusivity.
Campaign Background
The Borderless Africa Campaign emerged from the All-African Movements Assembly (AAMA) in Arusha, Tanzania in August 2022. The campaign seeks to:
- Abolish intra-African visa requirements
- Ratify and implement the AU protocol on free movement
- Introduce a common African passport
- Foster trade and global African connectivity
