Africans Rising will be organising a town hall event at 2pm GMT on the 20th of July 2024 on the theme Economic Justice: A Path Towards Sustainable Development. Being one of the five pillars of the movement, Economic justice is crucial for social justice, ensuring fair distribution of wealth and resources. Despite Africa’s economic potential, many face challenges like poverty and inequality.Â
The town hall on economic justice aims to explore this aspect and discuss strategies for promoting economic empowerment and prosperity for all Africans.Â
The objectives of the event include:
- raising awareness,Â
- examining root causes of economic injustice,Â
- emphasising gender equality, identifying policy recommendations,
- creating a platform for knowledge sharing,Â
- discussing the role of government, civil society organisations, and the private sector in promoting economic justice initiatives.Â
The event will be conducted as a virtual panel discussion involving activists, policymakers, academicians, researchers, entrepreneurs and any African who is interested in promoting economic justice and empowerment in Africa. The discussions will be enriched with a question and answer session.
